Caring for Each Other — Since Day One

For more than 25 years, Our Community Hunger Center has been a place where neighbors help neighbors — with compassion, dignity, and love. Founded in the Old School House in Macedonia by Carol A. Robinson, our mission has always been simple and powerful: treat every person like family.

Caring For Each Other

What began as a small food pantry has grown into a trusted nonprofit serving residents in Northern Summit and Portage Counties. With the help of generous donors, passionate volunteers, and caring partners, we've supported tens of thousands of families facing hunger, hardship, and unexpected crisis.

We believe no one should go hungry — and no one should have to ask for help and be met with shame. That’s why everything we do is rooted in kindness, respect, and community connection.

Who We Serve

We serve individuals and families who are:

  • Facing food insecurity or financial hardship

  • Navigating job loss, medical expenses, or life transitions

  • In need of essentials like hygiene products, clothing, or household supplies

  • Seeking guidance in applying for benefit programs like SNAP or utility assistance

How We Help

We’re more than a food pantry. We provide:

  • Nutritious groceries — fresh, frozen, and shelf-stable food

  • Clothing, personal hygiene, and household items

  • SNAP and utility benefit navigation

  • Holiday support programs (Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas)

  • Delivery services in special circumstances

  • Encouragement and emotional support when people need it most

We’re also proud members of the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank as a Choice Pantry, and active partners with the Twinsburg Chamber of Commerce, local churches, civic groups, and businesses.

Our Mission

To care for our neighbors with dignity and compassion, providing food, essentials, and hope to those in need.

We don’t just want to fight hunger.
We want to restore dignity, build trust, and make sure no one in our community feels forgotten.
