For more than 25 years, Our Community Hunger Center has been a place where neighbors help neighbors — with compassion, dignity, and love. Founded in the Old School House in Macedonia by Carol A. Robinson, our mission has always been simple and powerful: treat every person like family.

We offer a wide range of essential support, all at no cost to you:
A 7-day supply of food (fresh, frozen, and shelf-stable)
Personal hygiene items (soap, shampoo, feminine products, etc.)
Household essentials (paper goods, detergent, cleaning supplies)
Clothing (based on availability)
Help applying for SNAP, utility assistance, and other benefit programs
Delivery service available under special circumstances
Holiday programs with meals, toys, and seasonal support

You are eligible to receive assistance if:
You live in Northern Summit County or Northern Portage County, Ohio
You or your family are experiencing a temporary or ongoing need for support
Not sure if you qualify? Reach out anyway. We’ll talk through it with you — no pressure.
A friendly, welcoming environment
A one-on-one conversation to understand your needs
No judgment — just people who care
Assistance tailored to what you need most
To make your visit easier, please bring:
A valid photo ID
Proof of residency (like a utility bill or lease)
Any benefit cards or paperwork (SNAP, Medicaid, etc.)
Don’t worry if you don’t have everything — we’ll work with you.

We know asking for help can feel hard. But you’ll find kindness, respect, and real support at Our Community Hunger Center.
To receive assistance, you’ll need to schedule a short appointment with one of our team members. This helps us prepare for your visit and ensure we meet your unique needs.
We’ll listen to your situation, explain what we can offer, and walk you through your next steps — with compassion and zero judgment.
At Our Community Hunger Center, we believe in neighbors helping neighbors — and that includes you. Whether you’re looking for help, ready to give your time or resources, or exploring ways to get your organization involved, your next step starts here.
